Visit

A regular ticket for the LAM museum costs 7.50 euros, for a child even only 5 euros. That is considerably lower than in other museums. The LAM museum originates from the VandenBroek Foundation. This foundation would like to pass on the joy of art. Thanks to the foundation’s mission, we can keep admission prices low. This makes the museum accessible to a wide audience. There is even the possibility to book a sponsored ticket. With a sponsored ticket, you visit the museum free of charge.
We think that an optimal visit lasts a maximum of one hour. During that hour you can discover a lot and you will leave the building feeling refreshed and full of energy. Have you seen everything? Impossible! We advise you to take a good look at a few works of art and save the rest for later. Of course you are free to stay longer. We close at 5 p.m.
You cannot use your Museum card or ICOM card to enter the museum. No worries: sponsored visits to the LAM are available. Although sponsored entry is free, you will still need a ticket. Places are limited and all tickets have a start time.
The LAM museum is open on: Wednesday 10am – 5pm Friday 10am – 5pm Saturday 10am – 5pm Sunday 10am – 5pm During holidays we are open extra on Thursdays. To ensure that all visitors have a pleasant time in the LAM, we work with tickets with a starting time. View and reserve the available places on our website. Days and times that are fully booked are no longer clickable. We are often open extra days during holidays. You will always find the current opening days with the tickets.
You can change your tickets up to 24 hours in advance. The email with your tickets contains a link to your own Online Environment. You can reschedule your tickets via that link.
The LAM museum is located on the Keukenhof Estate in Lisse, across the street from the world-famous Keukenhof flower exhibition. We are good neighbors, but we have nothing to do with each other in terms of content. While Keukenhof receives 1.4 million visitors in a short time, we are open all year round for a limited number of visitors. With the limited capacity, we can provide a lot of personal attention. The LAM museum and Keukenhof Castle Estate have a separate parking lot where you can park for free.
In the LAM museum, all works of art have something to do with food, drinks or shopping. Simple subjects, specially depicted. The LAM museum has the largest food art collection in the world.
With the sponsored tickets you can visit the museum free of charge. Partners of the LAM museum are happy to finance your visit. The sponsored tickets can be ordered by everyone on the website. You decide who pays. Our sponsored tickets make the LAM museum accessible to all.
Assistance dogs are welcome in the LAM. Other dogs are not allowed in the museum, even if they are in a bag or basket.
On Thursdays we are exclusively open to school classes that have made a reservation with us. A regular visit is not possible on during these days. During the school holidays we are open to the regular public. You can find these Thursdays in the ticket agenda.
Yes, you always need a ticket with a starting time to visit the LAM museum. These tickets can only be ordered via the website. We work with tickets with starting times so that it is never too busy or crowded. You can order a ticket shortly in advance, up to 15 minutes before your desired starting time (provided there is room).
We work with tickets with starting times so that it is never too busy for you. With the starting times and limited capacity you get the personal attention you deserve.
You can always order tickets for the LAM museum online via our website. This can be done up to 15 minutes in advance, provided there is room. We do not have a cash register in the museum.
The LAM Museum is easily accessible to the disabled and wheelchair users. With our elevator you can reach all rooms. We have two wheelchairs to borrow that can also be used as walkers. Want to be sure of a wheelchair or walker? Please call or email in advance and indicate the day and time we can keep the wheelchair or walker free for you.
Great that you are interested in our LAM museum! The museum is at its best when people explore together, of course with the help of our Viewing Coaches. The museum is ideally suited for families, couples and other small groups. A visit with a large group (more than 10 people at a time) is not possible in the LAM museum, with the exception of school classes.
You can park easily and for free in the parking lot of Keukenhof Castle and the LAM museum. From there it is a few minutes’ walk to the museum.

Collection

What’s there

to see?

The LAM museum’s collection includes 3D images, art installations, paintings, sound art and digital art. That sounds like a lot (it is!). But there’s method in the madness: each work focuses on food, drink or shopping. Did we mention the LAM museum has the world’s largest collection of food art?

During the May holidays of 2023, the LAM museum was briefly the studio of cotton candy artist Martijntje Cornelia. Together with visitors she worked on a life-size self-portrait, of course made of cotton candy.

The LAM museum building itself

is arguably part of the collection

Some visitors say it’s the best work of art at the LAM museum. Designed by Arie Korbee, the raised museum looks right at home in the canopy.

We hadden inspirerende gesprekken over kunst. Niet twijfelen gewoon gaan ervaren.read more

LAM is a beautiful museum with a wonderful, modern art collection around the... theme of food. The approach of the "spectator coaches" is great, you learn a lot more than usual, and you have to ask the right questions. The visit to LAM takes a good hour and if you add the sculpture garden two hours. We came with a group of 22 and we were split into three groups (maximum of 10 people can enter at a time). Everyone enjoyed it and the rest of the day we kept on talking about what we had seen.read more

Awesome museum! It starts with the beautifully architecture of the building,... but then the central theme of food & consumption, the very visually appealing art and the whole concept of "just walk around and have a chat with us, or we with you" instead of endless signs turns this into an experience that myself and my 4 year old son absolutely loved!read more

Very interesting art. A mixed collection with something to everybody’s liking.... I love the way there are no signs and you have to connect with the museum staff if you want to know more about the art. Like with the artwork, you connect easier with some than others, so also on a social level very interesting. A place for everybody!read more
